A TWO-FLOOR River Island has been revealed as the latest store to take up a position in Bracknell's new town centre.

Announced on Thursday by the Bracknell Regeneration Partnership, the popular fashion brand joins the growing list of stores signing up to The Lexicon Bracknell which is due to open in the Spring of 2017.

The new store will stretch across an 11,200 sq ft space and promises to offer their full range of clothes and accessories.

Mark Woodruff, the store acquisitions controller at River Island said: "We are excited to have committed to taking a new store and join other fashion brands that will be opening at The Lexicon Bracknell. We look forward to bringing our full range of fashion to Bracknell town centre in early 2017."

Other stores to announce they will open in the regenerated town are Topshop, Primark and H&M among a plethora of restaurants and a 12-screen Cineworld.

Fashion giant Next have also revealed their plans for a huge 27,600 sq ft store which will be spread across three floors.

Simon Russian, development manager for Legal and General on behalf of the Bracknell Regeneration Partnership, said: "We are very excited to welcome River Island to The Lexicon Bracknell. We are confident that the new store will add to the impressive list of retailers that have signed up to the space to create a compelling shopping and leisure destination."

The new store announcements follows the recent launch of The Lexicon Bracknell, the town centre's new identity, which developers hope will become a social hub for the town.
More than 60 per cent of the units available have now been leased.

Cllr Marc Brunel-Walker, executive member for economic development and regeneration, says: “It’s great news that River Island is going to be part of our regenerated town centre, the store will be a great addition to the other big high street names already lined up.

"The Lexicon Bracknell will be a truly fantastic place to visit, shop and socialise come Spring 2017, providing Bracknell Forest’s much needed social and cultural heart."
