THE death of a man found in a children's playground in Bracknell yesterday morning is no longer being treated as suspicious.

A post mortem investigation carried out this afternoon concluded the man, who was found in a playground in a wooded area by South Hill Park, died of natural causes.

Police called off their murder investigation just six hours after they announced it was under way.

The deceased man has not been formally identified but police say he is a 32-year-old of no fixed abode. His next of kin has not been informed.

The 32-year-old man from Bracknell arrested on suspicion of murder remains in police custody in connection with an assault that took place on Wednesday, September 2.

Head of Major Crime Detective Superintendent Chris Ward said: "Officers were called to South Hill Park in Bracknell yesterday where sadly a man was found to have died.

"Following a post mortem today, which found the man had died from natural causes, we are no longer treating his death as suspicious and have ended our murder investigation."

Police were called to South Hill Park at 6.12 yesterday morning after a body was found strewn on the floor in the middle of the playground.

The wooded area was cordoned off, as was a stretch of the nearby South Hill Road. The road was reopened yesterday afternoon but the wood remained closed today.

Officers remained at the scene throughout Wednesday and Thursday.
