'FASHION police' will be on duty at Royal Ascot tomorrow to make sure everyone abides by the new dress code.
A specially-trained team of dress code assistants will be outside the Racecourse tomorrow for the start of the world-famous meeting to assist anyone who may have issues with their attire.
They will be armed with a selection of waistcoats, ties, pashminas and other items for those whose outfits are not up to scratch.
The new code requires ladies in the Royal Enclosure to wear hats with a base of four inches or more and skirts that fall just above the knee or longer.
Gentlemen must wear a black or grey morning dress with a waistcoat and tie, a black or grey top hat and black shoes.
In the Grandstand a hat, headpiece or fascinator must be worn by ladies at all times and strapless or sheer strap dresses are not allowed. Visit www.ascot.co.uk for more on the guide.
