HUNDREDS of students took part in a high energy fitness session to launch The Actives' health and wellbeing challenge.

On Tuesday April 24, 350 students from Nine Mile Ride Primary School took part in the session, which helped launch The Actives' mobile app.

The app will be working with local schools, clubs, children, parents and teachers across Bracknell

Dr Phillip Lee said, “I applaud Actives’ efforts to encourage children and young people to improve their wellbeing by leading active and healthy lifestyles.”

Joel James, founder of The Actives, said: “It’s important that we all work together to build a health and wellbeing community that supports children make good decisions to help them fulfil their physical and mental potential."

Bracknell Forest is supporting the app by rewarding the participating schools (Nine Mile Ride Primary, Ascot Heath Infants, Uplands Primary and Nursery, and Emmbrook Infants), with free family passes to Coral Reef.

Brett Nichols, CEO of Get Berkshire Active, said: "GBA are intent on helping the inactive become active and we can only do that in partnership and collaboration of great organisations working in Berkshire. It’s always great to hear about innovative ideas but even better when someone has the vision, passion and determination to make that idea into a practical reality that makes a tangible difference.

"The Actives Challenge is just that – a great idea turned into reality. We are already enjoying working with the Actives Team and will continue to do so to help more people become more active."
