FIREFIGHTERS spent more than two hours battling a blaze the broke out in a first floor bedroom.
Crews from Bracknell and Slough were rushed to Lovel Lane near Winkfield at 2pm.
Crew manager Greg Pearson from Bracknell firestation said: "The fire started in a bedroom. One person was in at the time.
"He got hold of us when he smelt smoke. He got out a flagged us down from the roadside.
"Most of the fire damage was just in the room where it started.
"There was heavy smoke damage in the room and lesser smoke damage across the rest of the first floor."
He said one team with breathing apparatus and a hose reel were sent in to extinguish the fire. The crews left the scene after two and a half hours.
