Pubs in Ascot have been gearing up for a busy Christmas season ahead, with many already being completely booked up for Christmas Day.

Front of House staff at The Carpenter’s Arms Mr Seb Boaler said that the pub currently has a waiting list for Christmas bookings.

Mr Boaler said: “We are busy and have full reservations most nights during the Christmas period. On the most part business has been good.”

He continued: “We have a Christmas waiting list and are already fully booked for Christmas day. We also have loads of bookings in December.

“It’s very busy during the Christmas period. I do a 45-hour week over Christmas week.”

The Carpenter’s Arms is hosting a range of groups for their Christmas gatherings and is mainly serving families this season.

Team Leader at The Stag Lisa Purrett said that winter trading has been going “brilliantly.”

“It’s been absolutely brilliant,” she said. “we’ve had a lot going on in Ascot like the Christmas Fair, we get people in from Lapland UK too.”

There has recently been a lot of changing of businesses on the Highstreet, meaning that The Stag is now the only traditional pub.

“The only other pub is now an Indian restaurant,” she said. “We are a local based pub so get a lot of familiar faces. Our weekends and Friday nights are also busy, and we regularly have live music.”

Lisa Purrett said that The Stag isn’t open for food on Christmas Day but will be serving drinks between 12 pm and 2 pm.

Team Member at The Duke Mr peter Szabo said that the pub is busy during Christmas, as this is a fairly normal occurrence each year.

“We have a new Christmas menu,” he said. “People want to get together to celebrate, this is what happens in pubs everywhere in the UK.”

Mr Szabo also reported that The Duke is fully booked for Christmas Day.

“We get a lot of bookings for parties and gatherings. On one side we have families and then we also have Christmas staff parties. I’d say it’s evenly spread between the two.”
