An private school in Ascot is celebrating after seeing an impressive increase in top grades for students in this year's GCSE results  - despite a national reset.

LVS Ascot, on London Road, has seen grades 8-9 go up by five per cent compared to 2022. 

A spokesman for the school said: "This represents the highest level of top grades since 2014, even surpassing the pre-pandemic years."

One outstanding student at LVS Ascot achieved an incredible ten grade 9 passes in various subjects, including Further Maths.

The school has also seen success in Maths exams, with the highest pass rate in a decade for both the foundation and higher levels, even taking into account the challenges of the Covid-19 years.

The school is also celebrating a 100 per cent pass rate in BTEC exams and the highest percentage of grade 9-7 results in a ‘normal’ year since 2014.

A spokesman added: "This is a testament to the hard work and dedication of both the students and staff at LVS Ascot."

Dylan, a student who has been with LVS Ascot since Year 2, celebrated two grade 9s, two grade 8s, and seven grade 7s.

He will be continuing his studies at the school's Sixth Form, focusing on History, Politics, and Film Studies.

Another student, Ava, who joined LVS Ascot in Year 7, achieved a grade 9, seven grade 8s, and one grade 7.

She has aspirations to study Creative Arts & Humanities at UCL in the future.

Christine Cunniffe, the School Principal at LVS Ascot, expressed her delight at the GCSE results and the higher grades achieved by the students.

She credited the outstanding performance to the exceptional work of the school's staff and the hard work and perseverance of the students.
