A group of Under 11 Ascot school boys had the opportunity to meet the England Football team manager, Gareth Southgate as they travelled to St Georges Park to compete in a school’s football competition.
After winning the ISFA Regional Under 11, 7 a side football tournament earlier in the year the boys at Papplewick school competed in the ISFA National tournament.
Although sadly they did not go on to win the competition, they were fortunate enough to meet the football legend. The school said that this has been etched on their memories and has inspired them to qualify next year.
Tom Bunbury, Headmaster said: “This was an unexpected bonus for the team and I am sure will be a huge contributory factor for inspiring them to train hard and qualify again for the ISFA National Tournament next season.”
