A RAPE investigation has been concluded with no further action taken.
On Monday May 28, it was reported that a woman in her twenties was approached by two men whilst walking on a footpath through the redevelopment of The Paddocks car park in Wokingham.
It was also reported that one of the men raped her.
Detectives have established that the incident did not occur as initially reported and therefore the investigation has concluded.
Thames Valley Police has refused to state whether or not any offence took place, whether a report was filed incorrectly, or what it is believed happened in the alleged incident.
Detective Inspector Jonathan Groenen, of Berkshire Force CID, said: “Thames Valley Police always takes reports of sexual offences extremely seriously and we work to establish the circumstances.
“Officers have been working with the woman who reported the incident to establish what happened and she is continuing to be offered support.
“We appreciate there has been an increased police presence in the area while officers have been working to carry out enquiries and I would like to thank the community for their understanding and patience while this has been ongoing.”
