THUGS robbed a young man of his bank cards and swung a gold chain at him during a terrifying incident. 

The victim, a 23-year-old man, was walking down an alleyway on Wildridings Road near to the underpass at 9.30pm on Tuesday June 26, when he was attacked by a gang.

One of the thugs approached the man and punched him in his face, bruising his cheek and knocking his glasses off, whilst the others set about shouting at him and trying to grab his phone. 

The victim ran off, but dropped his rucksack, and one of the thugs grabbed it an stole his wallet from the bag, which had bank cards and a driving licence inside. 

One of the boys then started swinging a gold chain at the victim, who managed to escape and run to the alleyway near the Beefeater restaurant and Downshire Way. 

Roughly five minutes later there was an attempt to use the victim's stolen bank cards at the Costcutter in Wildridings Square.

Police have released the above images of four people they wish to speak to in connection with this incident.

Investigating officer detective constable Paul Bentley, of the Investigation Hub at Loddon Valley Police Station, said: “This was a brazen robbery which left the victim shaken, but thankfully not badly hurt.

“I am urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or recognises any of the people in the CCTV images, to contact 101."
