THE Waitrose head office based in Bracknell has announced that from this Autumn, all takeaway coffee cups will be removed from its stores.
The first phase of the cup-cull will come into action on April 30 when 9 stores across the country will go cup free.
Waitrose offers all club card holders a free cup of coffee with their purchases but from by Autumn, anyone with a caffeine craving will be required to bring in their own reusable cups.
This move is expected to save up to 52 million cups per year and will have a positive effect on the environment.
