CRIME PREVENTION is at the heart of a new scheme launched by the council, and could provide thousands of pounds in funding.

The Public Protection Partnership has launched the new project to help communities in Bracknell Forest, Wokingham Borough and West Berkshire to address community safety and help prevent crime.

Councillor Norman Jorgensen, Chairman of the Joint Public Protection Committee, said: “The new Public Protection Community Fund is funded from assets seized from criminals as a result of their criminal activity.

“Grants of up to £7,500 per group are available and we are encouraging community groups, not-for-profit organisations and ward members, who are seeking funding for crime prevention in their local community, to apply to the fund.”
