I have lived in the Bracknell ward of Priestwood for just over twenty years, moving from Essex in 1996. A lifelong Labour supporter, I am also a trustee of two local elderly Day Centres and the local Community Centre. I am interested in ensuring that the elderly of Bracknell have access to quality services, allowing those over 65 to enjoy a safe and full life.

I combine my support of Labour and my trusteeships with a full-time job (self-employed), delivering support to SME owners within the Thames Valley area. I have worked in the private sector delivering services to Local Authorities across the UK as well experience of working in Europe and America.

I am married with children, combining family life with my passion for sport and the arts. Having been elected as Town Councillor at the first attempt, this achievement was only eclipsed by my opportunity to speak at last year’s Annual Labour Party Conference and being selected as the PPC for Bracknell.

Seven years of Conservative Governments’ austerity have failed; a quarter of children living in poverty, homelessness at a record high. Punitive benefit measures are devastating thousands of families and individuals. Even some middle-income families now depend on food banks. A Labour Government will tackle these issues head-on, building 1 million new houses, replacing lost social housing, reversing benefit caps and providing free school meals for all Primary School children.

Labour is already setting the agenda – forcing the Government to U-turn on NI increases for the self-employed, and their plan for all schools to become unaccountable Academy Trusts.

The distraction of BREXIT has allowed the Government to present a Bill that significantly reduces funding for Bracknell schools resulting in fewer teachers, increased class sizes and falling standards. Education of our children must not be compromised and your voice must be heard.

The national debt is a record £1.8 Trillion (Office for Budget Responsibility), so much for Tory financial management. It’s time for a Labour Government to invest in our people, lasting infrastructure and devolve financial powers to Local Authorities. Then the much-needed improvement to public services in Bracknell can be achieved.

As your Member of Parliament, I will work tirelessly to reverse these heartless policies by listening to all sections of my community, conducting regular surgeries across Bracknell, Sandhurst, Crowthorne and Finchampstead.

It’s time for Change, VOTE FOR CHANGE.
