COMMUTERS travelling on trains between Ascot and Guildford can expect significant disruption today (September 16) due to a lightning strike last night, which has damaged the signalling system on that stretch of railway.
Services may be cancelled, revised or delayed by up to ten minutes. The problems are expected to be cleared by 3.00pm today but may persist until the evening.
Alton to Waterloo services are likely to incur some delays, and may have to run fast between Woking and Waterloo, in order to avoid causing congestion and further problems.
Great Western Railway are accepting South West Trains tickets between Wokingham and Guildford via Blackwater.
You may use your ticket on Stagecoach bus routes 1 and 2 between Aldershot and Camberley.
