A MEMBER of 1960s band The Tremeloes living in Crowthorne has denied assaulting a teenage girl in a hotel room more than 40 years ago.
Richard Westwood, 72, of Ellis Road in Crowthorne, was a founding member of the band but retired four years ago.
Now he and bandmember Leonard "Chip" Hawkes, 70, have appeared to deny charges of indecent assault via video link from Reading Crown Court to Chester Crown Court.
The claimant says she was 15 year's old at the time of the alleged incident in a Chester hotel room between April 1 and 30, 1968.
She claims she was assaulted by both men after attending one of their concerts.
The trial has been set for February 6 next year.
The pair were both given unconditional bail.
