A HISTORY buff has launched an appeal to track down details about nine World War I veterans.
Andrew Radgick, from The Bracknell Forest Society, has been researching the names of those killed between 1914 and 1918 by looking at local war memorials.
He said: "I'm hoping, with the information, to get a book published in 2014 - the centenary of the outbreak of the World War I." Of several hundred names on the lists across the borough, Mr Radgick has identified all but nine and is hoping that the people of Bracknell Forest might be able to help him find out more about the last few.
The names, including the church where the name is listed, are as follows: Jack Franks, Bracknell Holy Trinity Henry W Marshall, Bracknell Holy Trinity Percy A Pearce, Easthampstead Bert Wood, Easthampstead Arthur Cox, Crowthorne R Dean, Crowthorne Alexander Wood, Warfield John Robertson, Wokingham St Sebastian's J Andrews, Cranbourne If anyone has any information on them, please call Mr Radgick on 01344 862683.
