1. Admiral Cunningham: Police officer charged over assault at pub
A Thames Valley Police officer has been charged with assault following an incident in a popular Bracknell pub.
Sergeant William Gilbert, who is based in Maidenhead police station will appear before Reading Magistrates Court tomorrow (26/1) in connection with an incident at The Admiral Cunningham public house on August 9, 2022.
Gilbert has been charged with one count of assault and one count of using threatening/abusive/insulting words/behaviour to cause harassment/alarm/distress.

2. Stacey Queripel: Police appeal 30 years after brutal murder of girl, 7
Today marks 30 year son from the brutal murder of seven-year-old Bracknell girl Stacey Queripel - for which nobody has been charged to this day.
On January 24, 1993, Stacey Queripel went missing from her home in Ladybank in Bracknell.
Tragically, her body was found later the same day by a police dog handler in woodland near South Hill Park in the town.

3. The Dew Drop Inn: Michelin-star chef Simon Bonwick takes over
A new menu and chef have arrived in a rural Berkshire pub - bringing a new flourish and a touch of French-inspired food to a hidden treasure on the outskirts of Maidenhead.
Michelin-star chef Simon Bonwick has recently taken over Hurley's Dew Drop Inn, a 16th-century pub between Maidenhead and Henley.
Previously owned by franchise Brakspear, the previous landlords are reported to have waved goodbye to the pub on January 8.

4. Huge plan for 205 homes at TRL site near Bracknell submitted
Massive plans for hundreds of homes at the former TRL site near Bracknell have been submitted this month.
Four planning applications have been submitted for the sites surrounding the Transport Research Laboratory (TRL) headquarters off Nine Mile Ride in Crowthorne.
While TRL remains, much of the grounds used to conduct experiments has been turned over to housing development known as Buckler’s Park.

5. Bracknell gymnast set to compete for Team GB in World Championships
A determined 15-year-old gymnast is hoping to be selected to compete in this year’s World Gymnastics Championships for Team GB.
Lottie Clarke, who has performed as part of the GB team on multiple occasions, is from Bracknell and has trained at Pinewood Gymnastics Club from a young age.
This year’s championships follows a successful performance in Bulgaria in 2022 where she finished 6th in her age group.
