DOZENS of giant red poppies have popped up around Bracknell Forest – have you seen them?

The fibre-glass decorations have been put out across the borough every year since 2013 in the run-up to Remembrance Day on November 11.

Bracknell News:

They were due to have their last outing in 2018 to mark 100 years since the end of World War One as they were in a state of disrepair.

However, councillor Dorothy Hayes has been working with businesses and community groups to get the poppies fixed for this year.

Longshot Motors assisted with the repair work, cleaning and spraying of the ornaments, Martin Heron and the Warren Community Association helped fund the painting of the decorations and Continental Landscape managers helped placed the poppies.

Cllr Hayes said: “People love them.

"All three organisations I truly thank and am grateful on behalf of our borough residents for their help to make sure our poppies went out.”

Bracknell News:

She told the News the poppies had been damaged in previous years and urged residents to get in touch if they see them in poor condition.

She added: “Please look after them – if you see anything untoward please ring the borough council.”
