A once picturesque Bracknell neighbourhood has turned bleak in the wake of fly-tipping and rubbish left forgotten throughout the years.

Kimberley in Birch Hill is a neighbourhood on the edge of South Hill Park surrounded by beautiful greenery.

However, according to local residents this has now become a haven for rodents due the rubbish and waste that has been left outside houses in the area.

Bin bags full of household waste including nappies, trunking from old heating used in the local houses and washing machines and other unwanted household goods are left in the area.

David Goodey, who has lived in the area since 1977 with his wife sad: “This is the worst the area has been. Were right on top of SHP and this doesn’t give off the right impression of the area or town we love.”

“One of the properties which houses a lady with her two sons has mattresses, tyres, wheels and a SORN off car out front.”

He added: “They dumped it there five years ago and it is still there. It means other people think they can park around here because they won’t be lifted.”

The resident has contacted Silva Homes, the housing provider which covers the area and have been advised that someone will visit them in due course to help.

Silva homes commented to The News: “Fly tipping is a serious problem across the borough which costs Silva Homes and the council thousands of pounds each year to clear up. Thank you for bringing this case of fly tipping to our attention.

“We have a dedicated team removing fly tipping who will go out to see if we can identify where it has come from and take action to clear up.

“Any car parked on our land is required to have a valid MOT (if required) and road tax. We have contacted the customer who raised the issue about the fly-tipping, and we will look at gathering more details about the vehicle mentioned and commence the process for this.
