THE reopening of Tang's Chinese Buffet has been hugely delayed by the pandemic but now it is finally open.

The much anticipated Lexicon restaurant opened its doors to hungry diners on Friday, June 18, and it's been streaming with customers ever since.

However, some people have been confused with the way the buffet is operating during Covid-19.

Members of Bracknell's largest Facebook Group We Love Bracknell aired their concerns as to how they use the buffet, if they can serve themselves and if the chocolate fountain is even working.

The confusion from residents even led to Councillor Marc Brunel-Walker offering reassurance to residents of how hard the buffet had been working to open back up again.

Due to Covid-19, food businesses have had to adapt to minimise the risk of infection between diners inside restaurants.

This means social distancing between tables, hand sanitisation stations and checking in via the NHS Track and Trace QR code.

Tang's said their 'priority is to provide a safe environment for their team and customers'.

This means customers have to wear face masks and gloves when choosing their food at the buffet.

New plates and gloves are being provided for second visits to the buffet.

Chen Zhang, owner of Tang’s in Bracknell, said: "We are currently only offering soft drinks which need to ordered at the bar and we will deliver them to the table.

"Hand sanitiser is readily available within the restaurant.

"We have also reduced the number of tables and introduced a one way system to ensure social distancing. Unfortunately we are unable to offer the chocolate fountain at this time.”
