FOR many people, their daily walks have been their solace during lockdown.

It’s given people a chance to explore their surroundings and discover beautiful areas that they never knew existed.

Restaurants and surrounding shops may be closed- but some local café and coffee shops have decided to remain open for takeaway services only.

We have tracked down three Bracknell walking routes with a nearby coffee shop that’s open for business.

This means you can spice up your regular walking route by enjoying a hot drink on the journey.

However, it’s important to note that these walking routes are only suitable for people who live locally and who can embark on them in accordance with lockdown rules.

Savernake Park/Swinley Forest

This easy walking route can take anywhere between an hour to three (depending on how far you wish to go!)

It's a little hilly in places but it's suitable for walkers of any skill levels and dogs love it there too!

The picturesque route will take you through the woodlands and it’s the ideal trail if you are looking for some peace and tranquillity.

Crepe and coffee

Al Crepes and Cafe is one of the closest places that is open for takeaway and it’s less than a five minute walk from this route’s start point.

While you are there, it would be almost criminal not to sample on of their scrumptious crepes!

It’s open: Tuesday to Sunday- 12pm to 6pm.

Lily Hill Park

This lovely walking route boasts a Green Flag award and features beautiful trees perfect for that woodland escape.

From March 8, friends will be able to meet up for picnics so why not enjoy it sat at one of England's largest picnic benches in Lily Hill Park.

This walking route really lets you connect with nature and the outdoors 56 acres of restored heritage parkland for you to enjoy.

And before you start off your walk, enjoy a takeaway coffee at Ziggy's Outside Catering or a sweet treat to give you that much needed energy boost.

The cafe also has breakfast options including bacon and sausage baps, English muffins and baguettes!

It’s open Wednesday to Friday- 10am to 4.30pm.

Saturday to Sunday - 9.30am to 5pm

Frost Folly

This scenic route is beautiful when the sunset backdrops onto the meadow. If you're looking for somewhere to clear your mind, then Frost Folly is perfect with its delightful views over the surrounding countryside.

In mid-summer the meadows burst with all kinds of colours from the daisy's but be sure to wrap up as it feels cold in the open fields.

Car parking is provided off Wellers Lane and if you fancy a takeaway coffee, visit independent cafe Robyn's Nest in Moss End Garden Centre.

There you can enjoy a fantastic array of sweet treats and pastries perfect to talk with you on your long walk.

The walking route is suitable for families and all walking abilities.
