Thousands of people have come together to find a missing dog believed to be stolen.

Chocolate Labrador-cross Lola went missing from St Peter's Church in Yateley on Friday, February 5.

Her owners Becky Levitt and Charley set up a Facebook campaign with more than one thousand residents helping share their appeal.

Dog thefts have surged since the first coronavirus lockdown in March. Dogs Lost, the UK's largest lost and found dog service, has reported an increase of 250 per cent in the past year, compared to the previous period.

Lola disappeared while on her walk in St Peter's Church at around 9.30pm one week ago.

She was last seen in Little Sandhurst on February 10.

Updating members within the Facebook community, Charley wrote: "If you are heading out and see her, please do not approach her! She is in survival mode! Contact my sister (07480220802) straight away with any information like where you've sighted her, what she looks like, is she wearing a collar etc.. (even try and snap a picture if you are able to!)".

Today, residents have come together to organise missing posters to be put around Crowthorne village and Sandhurst of Lola.

Becky said: "The community have been amazing! Everyone is searching for her, printing off posters and going for walks to see her."

Prospect estate agents in Sandhurst has also assisted in the operation to find Lola by printing missing posters free of charge.

A spokesman wrote on Facebook: "Lola has been missing since 5th February but has been sighted locally since. Her owners are doing all they can to get her home and any further help would be invaluable.

"We're printing more posters to help spread the word and would appreciate the help of everyone in Sandhurst."
