Here are a few of the most significant stories readers should be aware of:

1. 'We want all over 70s to be jabbed in 2 to 3 weeks'

An important story our reporter delved into this week was what life has been for volunteers inside the vaccination clinic.

The News spoke to Mark Sanders who revealed how many people had been vaccinated in Bracknell so far at the Waitrose site.

Bracknell News:

He also hoped all patients over 70 will receive their jab “within two to three weeks” at the vaccine site at Waitrose HQ Sports and Leisure Centre.

3. Bracknell Sainsbury's site set for changes in planning transformation

Sainsbury’s in Ringmead, Birch Hill is set for a major revamp with new plans showing off the site’s potential transformation.

The proposals would see Sainsbury’s lose 10 car parking spaces so a new hand-held car wash can be built at the north-east of the site.

There is already an automated car washing facility behind Sainsbury’s petrol station but the supermarket giants say this new option will ‘provide a different service’ with hand-valeting the key selling point.

5.Police patrol Swinley Forest to challenge groups of people

Covid marshals and police have been challenging groups of people who have been meeting in Swinley Forest over the past two weekends.

This comes as local authorities try to crack down on those who are not following lockdown rules in the borough.

According to Bracknell Forest Council, some people are “knowingly and persistently breaking these rules by meeting in large groups in popular places such as parks.”
