An inspiring man has turned into a 'real life Father Christmas' by gifting children across the borough presents.

Matthew Cobb from Bracknell decked himself in a Santa costume in order to play the part.

He used his own money to buy almost £100 worth of presents for children across the borough.

He said: "Being Santa is the most wonderful feeling ever. Seeing the kids faces light up is heart warming and brings pure joy."

However, Christmas hasn't always been a joyful time for Matthew.

The Bracknell resident has experienced homelessness twice at Christmas so by gifting children he is turning it into a positive experience.

Gemma said: "Matthew has not had a easy life. He was in care from the age of 10 and the reason Christmas is such a difficult time for him is because he was homeless at Christmas for 2 years straight which brings painful memories back to him at this time of year."

"But he's been doing such an amazing thing this year. He started up a toy company that sell toys for next to nothing than their retail value to give parents a little helping hand at Christmas."

The 23-year-old works alongside his dad running his own company.

He has visited more than 20 families across Binfield, Wokingham and Ascot with another 20 visits to families in Bracknell in the pipeline before Christmas day.

Matthew added: "Knowing I'm helping families who may not be able to afford to see Santa is a great feeling to be able to bring a little happiness to what has been a tough and uncertain time."
