A Bracknell bookworm is hoping to reunite a mother with their long-lost baby scan after finding the special image in a chance encounter.

The man, who did not want to be named, came across the photograph after picking up a book from a second-hand exchange point at Martins Heron rail station.

3.Police fine hundreds of Covid-19 rule breakers including four people who didn't self-isolate

The most expensive fine issued was £680 for breaching coronavirus rules, which was heard at crown court police said.

Residents are being encouraged to report breaches of coronavirus to police to help in the fight against the killer virus.

Wokingham 'going to Tier 2' this month as Covid 19 infection rate rises.

People in Wokingham could be hit with Tier 2 coronavirus restrictions later this month, a public health expert has warned.

As of Thursday, October 22, Wokingham has recorded 1,080 confirmed cases so far and its seven-day infection rate stands at 74 cases per 100,000. That’s up from 49.7 the previous week.

5.'It is not part of their ideology' - Labour cllr reacts to free school meals vote

Bracknell News:

Conservative MPs rejected a Labour motion on Wednesday, October 21, to extend free school meals over the school holidays until Easter 2021 by 322 votes to 261, majority 61.

Many Labour councillors have reacted angrily to the way the Tory government have voted, including Cllr for Great Hollands North Mary Temperton.

She said: "Not surprised at all. I tweeted that I expected him to vote against this support for our most vulnerable children. Many of our families live on a knife edge regarding balancing their weekly budgets. "During school time, their children are fed with free school meals, and often support from teachers."
