A MAN has been robbed of cash after being punched to the ground and attacked outside an Indian takeaway.

Thames Valley Police said the victim, a man in his forties, was stood outside Jahan Kitchen in Sandhurst when it happened.

The force said it was about 9.20pm on Tuesday, April 23, when the victim was approached outside the restaurant on Yorktown Road.

He was punched in the head and fell to the ground, before the attackers stole his cash and ran off.

It is believed two attackers were involved and fled towards a dark-coloured Peugeot parking in the layby outside Domino's Pizza down the road.

They drove off towards Crowthorne.

A 45-year-old man, from Farnborough, has since been arrested on suspicion of robbery, and has been bailed until May 21.

In an appeal to the public, police said one of the offenders is described as approximately 6ft tall, European appearance, with tattoos on both arms. He was wearing a white t-shirt and black trousers.

Investigating officer PC Maxine Rodgers added: "I am appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this incident, or who has any information to please come forward.
