FOR months we have been stuck in lockdown with nothing better to do than to have clear out junk and get rid of rubbish.

Some of us would have accrued so much household waste that the thought of going to the tip bring a sense of enjoyment and satisfaction.

Re3 announced yesterday that Bracknell and Reading recycling centres will be reopening from next week.

So we thought we'd break it down with the do's and don't of what you can and can't recycle and how to book a slot with its new booking system.

Where is Bracknell recycling centre?

Bracknell Household Waste Recycling Centre, Longshot Lane, Binfield, Bracknell, RG12 1RB

What are the opening times?

The tip opens on Monday, May 18 and will operate seven days a week from 8am to 6pm.

How to book a slot:

The 'Click and Tip’ booking system will open at 10am on Friday, May, 15. You will be refused entry if you do not make a booking.

Residents in Bracknell Forest, Reading and Wokingham Boroughs will be able to book a time slot via the web form on the RE3 recycling page or Bracknell Forest Council website here

You can book up to 7 days in advance but there are a limited number of booking slots available, with the sites only operating at 50 per cent of usual capacity.

RE3 has said if you can safely store waste at home do so and "only make a booking if the trip to the recycling centres is essential"

Will it be safe to go the tip?

The booking system means there will be limited cars going into the site.

All visitors are required to stay 2 metres apart and use the traffic signs in place.

Residents are to display their proof of address through closed windows to minimise contact and use contactless payment if necessary.

There will be no assistance for unloading waste on the site as they will be directing the public to social distance and manage parking.

Anyone who is displaying symptoms cannot visit and must stay at home.

What can I take to the recycling centre

Residents can dispose of/or recycle all usual types of waste and all usual types of vehicles are accepted. Chargeable items apply.

Rules for access in the commercial type vehicles still apply.
