RESIDENTS are set to find out which green space car parks are reopening today, according to an announcement made by Bracknell Forest Council yesterday.

As of today (Wednesday, May 13) the public is allowed to exercise as much as possible and drive to parks and 'beauty spots', under new lockdown rules.

Bracknell is lucky to have places like Swinley Forest, Mill Pond, Savernake Park, South Hill Park and more - but do readers feel it's necessary to have to drive to go for a walk.

We put the question to the readers and asked whether people think the borough's car parks should reopen at parks following the new rules.

In our News poll, 200 votes were submitted from our readers and 52 per cent of people think green space car parks should remain closed.

Bracknell News:

At close margin, 43 per cent of people said they should reopen and want their dogs to get proper exercise.

David Adams: "No, if you want to go for a walk, walk to where you’re going." however David Luck said: "YES so we can meet family and keep within the rules. Rather than people breaking the rules by having family or friends come to their homes."

Brian Tea raised the point: "If people are now allowed to drive where they want to exercise then car parks must reopen or they’ll park in streets."

Shelley Russell added: "They will open them when they can get round to them all - and when they think it’s safe to do so - they may have to limit parking so places are not overrun with people and cars - stop being so impatient! Why would you all want to go somewhere that is packed with people anyway?"
