CARE home staff feel "disappointed" after thieves stole a garden furniture set in the middle of the night.

Elderly residents at Astbury Manor Care Home in Bracknell woke up to see pieces of furniture missing from their garden on Thursday morning (April 2).

Sue Russ, customer service manager at the care home, said: "I feel so disappointed, how could someone stoop so low and take stuff from an elderly care home, especially in this current climate. We have other furniture but that is not the point."

Police said they are investigating a report of theft and it is believed to people stole garden furniture.

Bracknell News:

A spokesman said: "Thames Valley Police is investigating a report of a theft which occurred at Astbury Manor Care Home, Bracknell yesterday evening. It is believed that two offenders stole garden furniture from the home.

"An investigation into the incident is taking place. No arrests have yet been made. Anyone with any information is asked to call 101 quoting reference number 43200103832."

Sue said the thieves stole a small rattan table and chairs.

She added: "We discovered it after looking outside the garden room meeting and realised furniture was missing.

"We thought it wasn't missing and that someone may have just moved it or it may have been the activity team who moved it but we looked at the CCTV and saw two males come in down from the side of the care home and climb over the fence."
