TALENTED students wore their best frocks and performed an adaptation of Disney's Beauty and the Beast.

Charters School in Sunningdale's creative arts department put on their annual stage show, impressing teachers, families and guests.

More than 80 students from year 8 to 13 played the enchanting characters, bringing Belle and her friends to life.

The cast began rehearsing in September, learning lines and being choreographed on dance routines to perform a spectacular musical.

Amy Utting, who played Belle, said, “Having the opportunity to work with the different year groups on this show is something really special.

"I thoroughly enjoyed playing Belle, as she is such an iconic character. The whole experience has been very rewarding.”

Students were also encouraged to get involved with the production by learning how to be sound and lighting technicians.

Belinda Preston, co-head of Drama, said: “Their hard work never ceases to amaze me.

"We have such a talented group of students, and they have risen to the challenge of this demanding musical through their dedication and passion for performance.

"Our crew has also been fantastic, making this show look as slick and professional as possible.”
