The new play equipment will be ‘more modern and engaging’, meaning children up to eight years old will be able to enjoy the new equipment at Blackmoor Playspace, and children up to 12 years old will be able to have fun at Asher Recreation Ground.

Bracknell News:

New seating will also be added at both sites, with one of the new benches at Blackmoor Playspace will be a memorial seat in memory of a resident who was a gatekeeper at the site for many years.

A council report read: “The upgrade of this equipment will greatly benefit the local community providing a lovely place for young children and families to spend some quality time out in the

open.

Bracknell News:

“As the equipment is aimed for children up to eight years we expect there to be a lot more use of the equipment and the area.”

Bracknell Forest Council will be contributing £30,000 to the project from funds generated by developers, with Winkfield Parish Council (WPC) having ringfenced a further £84,000 for the new equipment.

WPC consulted with children around Winkfield about the new facilities through a questionnaire, which asked “very enthusiastic” youngsters what types of activities and equipment they would like to see at the sites.
