A DETERMINED pupil has cycled for 33 miles with her Dad by her side to raise money for a variety of charities across Bracknell.

Emily Denton, who attends Loddon Primary School cycled with 400 riders in the annual Three Counties Cycle Ride on June 2.

The eight-year-old set off with her Dad at 8.30am, trekking through the Berkshire countryside and crossing the finish line at Garth Hill College.

Dave Donaldson, event organiser, said: "Emily showed great courage and determination and clearly enjoyed the ride. "As always our thanks go to all those who took part, to the supporters who provided refreshments before, during and after the ride as well as first aid and support - and to many others without whom the ride would not have happened."

The money raised this year will go to Thames Valley Air Ambulance, Breakthrough Learning, the Bracknell Night Shelter, and the Rotary Club of Bracknell Trust Fund.

During last years annual charity ride, more than £12,000 was raised.

The Easthampstead Rotarians will also be organising other events over the summer including the Bracknell Community Day celebrations on June 15, the Bracknell Samaritans 5k or 10k Fun Run and the Teddy Bear Kids Run at Easthampstead Park Community School on June 18.
