CYCLISTS are being encouraged to apply to take part in a charity bike ride organised by the Easthampstead Rotary Club.

The Three Countries Cycle Ride will take place on Sunday, June 2 where cycling enthusiasts will start and finish at Garth Hill College in Bracknell.

Dave Donaldson, organiser of the Rotary Club, said: “The 3 Counties Cycle Ride is an event for cycling families and the seasoned enthusiast alike.

"You can choose from the scenic 15-mile, 33-mile or 54-mile routes which wind through Berkshire, sometimes dipping into Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire.”

All the routes will be clearly signed posted and there will be frequent marshals as well as drink stations.

During last years annual charity ride more than £12,000 was raised.

Dave added: “Since the cycle ride was founded in 1983 well over £600,000 have been raised for our charities.”

The money raised this year will go to Thames Valley Air Ambulance, Breakthrough Learning, the Bracknell Night Shelter, and the Rotary Club of Bracknell Trust Fund.

The Easthampstead Rotarians will also be organising other events over the summer including the Bracknell Community Day celebrations on June 15, the Bracknell Samaritans 5k or 10k Fun Run and the Teddy Bear Kids Run at Easthampstead Park Community School on June 18.

Entries into the bike race should be submitted by Friday, May 31. For more information, visit: www.easthampsteadrotary.org.
