SANDHURST youngster Adam Bouaziz has become a national ice-skating champion.

Bouaziz out-scored the best young skaters in the country to win the gold at the British Championships in Sheffield recently.

Competing in the men’s basic novice category, Bouaziz put on some near-flawless routines to take the top spot.

He is now hoping to win a place in the next Great Britain development squad where he will hone his skills even further.

Bouaziz, who trains at the John Nike Ice Rink in Bracknell, has already found fame thanks to his achievements on the ice.

He is due to return to his primary school, St Michael’s in Sandhurst, later this month to talk to pupils about ice skating and to show off his medals.

Last month he and new dance partner, Ave Mae Martell, were also invited to attend a special training camp in Poland funded by the International Skating Union.

Mum Rhoda beamed: “His family, senior school and his coaches David Phillips, Lucine Chakjakjian and Gary and Louise Peed are all very proud of his achievement.”
