MARTIN O’Connor from Wokingham Bowling Club reached the final of the Berkshire County Men's Unbadged Singles where he took on Harry Walmsley from Caversham.

In a very tight final, O’Connor came from behind to win the title 21-20 on shots and secure the W.A.J. Murray Cup.

Wokingham finished runners up in the Berkshire Floodlight League behind Suttons.

In the final round of matches, the A team beat Maidenhead Town A 77-61, but the B team lost 82-48.

Wokingham won on all three rinks with a top triple of Shirley Dutton (skip), Teresa O’Connor and Anne-Marie Murray, winning by 19 shots.

GREAT Hollands Linnetts defeated Maiden Erlegh 71-44 on shots for a 10-0 points win in the Thames Valley Ladies League.

Jose Chippendale, Ingrid Girdlestone and Olive Bambury had the top triple, winning 24-6.

Rita Littleford, Rita Hills and Sheila Readings won 25-19 with Sheila Lee, Lorraine Capon and Sheila Horton winning 22-19.
