Crowthorne Inn retained top spot in the Premier Division with a hard-fought 4-2 home win against Golden Farmer Rangers.

Crows got off to a perfect start when man-of-the-match Jonny Clifford’s quick free-kick caught the Farmer defence napping and Jake Crean made no mistake from 10 yards with just five minutes gone.

Farmer then rallied well against a strong Crowthorne side and had chances to level before the break, but they found Jordan Meade in the Crows’ goal in fine form.

The hosts doubled their lead early in the second half when Leon Mannion converted his penalty kick before Dave Carpenter then pulled one back for the visitors to give Farmer some hope.

The next goal was always going to be key and Crows grabbed it, Clifford netting after Mannion capitalised on a defensive error, before Mannion then hit his second soon after.

A dogged Farmer side would not lay down, however, and Dan Adams got their second, but although the visitors pressed for a third, they could not find it.

This newly-promoted Crowthorne Inn side have a competitive edge to their game which will upset a lot of sides this season and they thoroughly deserve to be top with four wins from five so far.

In Division Three, Hope & Anchor beat Winnersh Rangers 2-1.
