WOKINGHAM & Emmbrook have fallen at the first hurdle in the Berks & Bucks Senior Trophy.

The Sumas lost 2-0 on penalties away to East Berks League champions Langley after a hard-fought tie had ended goalless. There was no extra time.

The Langley keeper was easily the man of the match, making several fine saves, including four in the penalty shoot out.

The Sumas will be looking to make it four wins out of five in the Hellenic League Division One East when they take on Milton United at Lowther Road this Saturday (3pm).

  • SANDHURST FC's Berks & Bucks Senior Trophy tie with Woodley United Royals was called off as the appointed referee needed to rest after being injured at work last Friday.

The tie is expected to be played on October 4 (7.45pm).

This Saturday, the Fizzers host Wessex League side Ringwood in the second qualifying round of the FA Vase.

  • A BRAD Brown brace helped Eversley & California to defeat Kensington Borough 3-2. Joe Pantony got the other vital goal for the Boars, who are setting a strong pace at the top of the Combined Counties League Division One with eight wins out of nine.

They visit third-placed Worcester Park on Saturday (3pm), while tonight they are away to Alresford in the Hampshire Senior Cup (Wednesday, 7.45pm).
