Alfa Semedo has been linked with a move back to the Madejski Stadium following a loan spell at the club during the 2020-21 campaign.

The 23-year-old enjoyed a mixed spell at the club last year but was a regular feature of Veljko Paunvovic's team, making a total of 40 appearances for the club.

Semedo found the back of the net twice and registered three assists last season.

According to reports from A Bola, the midfielder reportedly left a 'good impression' at the club and that Benfica will listen to offers during the summer for the Guinea-Bissau international.

With an estimated price tag of £5m, it would be a surprise to see Semedo return on a permanent deal, given the Royals' perilous financial position.

Charlton Athletic striker Chuks Aneke has also been linked with a move to the Royals this Summer.

Aneke found the back of the net 16 times last season and may give another dimension to the Royals front line.

At this point, it is understood that no official approaches have been made for either Semedo or Aneke, despite the recent links.

The Charlton Athletic striker is said to be of interest to five Championship clubs, including Reading.

Elsewhere, a number of Europe's biggest clubs have been keeping tabs on EFL Young Player of the Year Michael Olise.

Premier League teams Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Leeds United have all been linked with a swoop for the prestigious talent this summer, as have newly-crowned Ligue 1 champions Lille.
