Saturday's game between Reading FC and Brentford has been postponed.

The news follows a number of positive Covid-19 cases recorded amongst Brentford players and staff.

No date has yet been confirmed for the rearranged fixture.

The West London club have also been forced to close their training ground as a result of the positive cases.

A statement on the Reading FC website said: "Brentford informed the EFL that they would be unable to fulfil the fixtures following recent positive COVID-19 tests and the requirement for players and staff to self-isolate as per EFL and Government guidance in order to mitigate against the risk of further infection.

"The circumstances surrounding the postponements will now be the subject of an investigation in accordance with EFL Regulations.

"Everyone at Reading Football Club would like to send their very best wishes for a safe and speedy recovery to all concerned at Brentford."
