Reading fans have taken to social media to vent their frustrations following Reading's Madejski horror show on Wednesday night.
The Royals were beaten resoundingly by relegation-threatened Wigan Athletic, leaving Mark Bowen's men just five points above the drop.
The reaction on social media was almost universally negative following the final whistle last night.
Here is just a few of the hundreds of negative messages across Twitter.
The decision to have George Pușcaș on the bench if he was not fit to come on is baffling. Bowen said he would only use him if he “had to”, surely 2-0 down at to Wigan is exactly that situation. What have the likes of McCleary and Loader got to do to get a chance? #readingfc

With Barnsley, Charlton, Boro, Huddersfield and Stoke all to play how can Bowen genuinely believe we are not in a relegation battle? 5 of the current bottom 7... #readingfc

What a night for #readingfc. 3-0 loss to 22nd placed Wigan. The rarely seen 442 with 4 CMs. Rafael stopping a real hammering. No shots in the entire 1st half. Bowen leaving a sub unused because he put an injured striker there. Bowen digging his own grave. Relegation battle again.

At least we don't have to keep writing tweets saying how sorry we are for judging Bowen before we gave him a chance anymore #readingfc

Moore awful, would be tempted to cash in if there are still takers, terrible decision making and way too casual. Ejaria can’t play wide, subs left us way too open and the midfield was an absolute joke all night. Gutless, zero movement or intelligence #readingfc

I think it’s a real shame that even though it’s very apparent this team thrives in a counter attacking, high intensity system, we are refusing to commit to that style.

No surprise that our results have come from playing in that way, yet we completely change tonight. #readingfc
That’s alright......you go and score

What even is that ?

Not enough expletives to describe that performance tonight.

If we can’t put the effort in to win a game against Wigan, then I expect nothing less than abject failure on Saturday against Barnsley.
And by the way Mark - all 46 games are ‘must win’.#readingfc
#ReadingFC so we have "good players on paper", they play well for 10 games then fall apart.

We haven't had a decent frontline for a long time and players are losing belief in the managers, the rest of the team gets frustrated and results dwindle. Need to play with wingers again!
That was one of the worst games I've ever seen in 33 years of watching #readingfc
