Royals midfielder John Swift was delighted after Reading's 'much needed' 3-0 victory at Hillsborough.

Speaking after the game, Swift spoke of his delight at how the players saw out the result after taking the lead in the first half.

"It was a really good result and performance. I thought we needed it after the last game. Conditions were tough, but we've played in these conditions against tough teams [before].

"We didn't really know what way the wind was going in the first ten minutes but once we got the first goal and took the sting out of the game it was a really good performance."

Swift played in a deeper role against Sheffield Wednesday, which he said was something he had too adapt too.

"That's the position the gaffer wanted me to play in today, I've played in all three different positons in midfield. It's aposition I had to adapt too, so it was good to get a look at a different position.

"Anywhere in midfield I'd happily play, I said to the manager I don't mind where I play - I just want to get on the ball as much as possible."

Ayub Timbe Masika made a ten minute cameo off the bench as he made his Royals debut. Swift praised Masika's perfomance and gave Royals fans more of an insight about what to expert from the winger.

"He's a really tricky winger, really fast and really direct. He'll be a threat to any full back he comes up against - he's just about him getting into his stride now.

"It was tough conditions to come on [to make his debut] in. He's really quick and I'm sure he's going to do really well."
