Young Royals forward Adam Liddle has left to join Irish side Derry City on a six month loan deal.
Liddle, who spent last month on trial with the Candystripes, has joined in time for the start of the Irish season, which gets underway on Friday evening.
Derry City manager Declan Devine told the club website: "He stayed in touch with us on a regular basis and despite his travel arrangements being badly hampered by the weather yesterday he was happy to travel overnight to get here.”
“I’ve said many times that this is an extremely competitive league. We need quality throughout the squad and he has been banging in goals for Reading’s under 23’s.”
Liddle is expected to be in the frame to make his debut on Friday evening as Derry travel to Dundalk.
