SOUTH Berkshire Men returned to winning ways and kept their MBBO Regional Two title hopes alive with a hard-fought 3-2 home win against Oxford 2nds, writes Richard Ashton.

The second-placed hosts – who remain two points behind Sonning having played a game more – were grateful to goals from Rob Badley, Sam Fox-Harvey and Harrison Scott as they collected a 12th win from 16 games this season.

Jessie Vogel and Sam Worlidge were on target for the visitors.

South Berkshire travel to relegation-threatened Reading 4ths this Saturday (10am).

Michael Amor, Mike Baylis, Paul Kaplanski and Daniel Ray were all on the scoresheet as Division Two trailblazers South Berkshire 2nds grabbed a 4-2 victory at Oxford 3rds.

The success leaves them 11 points clear at the top-of-the-table, while Kaplinski and Ray now have 22 and 20 goals to their respective names.

In Division Three, South Berkshire 3rds won 3-2 at Newbury & Thatcham 3rds, while South Berkshire 4ths replicated that result at home to Wallingford 4ths in Division Seven.

South Berkshire Terriers remain in the Division Eight West title race after they sealed a 2-0 victory at Abingdon 3rds.

South Berkshire Ladies climbed to ninth in Premier Division One of the Trysports Three Counties League after edging out fellow strugglers Maidenhead 2nds 1-0.

They will hope to follow up just a fourth success of the season when travelling to basement side Henley 2nds on Saturday (11.45am).

In Premier Division Two, second-bottom South Berkshire 2nds slipped to a 2-1 reverse at Marlow 3rds, while in Division Two, South Berkshire 3rds were edged out 4-4 at lowly Banbury 3rds in a seven-goal cracker.

South Berkshire 4ths jumped from 10th to seventh in the closely-contested lower half of the Division Five table after cruising past Wycombe 5ths 4-0.
