IVER Heath have set up an all-East Berkshire League final against Singh Sabha in the Maidenhead Norfolkian Senior Cup this season, writes Rob Stevens.

Iver beat FC Beaconsfield 3-1 in the semi final tie at the Iver Heath Recreation Ground thanks to Dean Papali brace plus a goal from Zak Gill on Saturday.

The two Premier Division rivals will meet in the final at York Road – the home of Maidenhead United Football Club – on Monday 27th April (7.30pm kick off).

Singh Sabha won the Senior Cup final last season but were then removed from the competition after fielding an ineligible player. Sabha reached the final again this term following a 2-1 home win against league rivals KS Gryf.

AFC Cressex suffered a second giant-killing in as many weeks after losing 5-2 to Hype Train in the quarter final of the Ascot & District Fielden Cup.

Division Two side Hype Train won the tie at the Holmer Farm Recreation Ground thanks to a Callum Parr-Jones brace plus goals from debutant Jon Watkins, Martin King (his first for the club) and Sam Paddon. There was also a debut for Josh Cox and a first start for Joan Clemente.

Slough Heating Laurencians Reserves and Singh Sabha became the first teams from the Premier Division to reach the quarter final in the League Cup.

PHOTO: AFC Winkfield suffered a 3-2 defeat after extra time against Hounslow Wanderers in the last-16 of the League Cup on Saturday.

The Laurencians beat Eton Wick 6-1 at the Polish Club while Sabha were awarded a walkover win after Chalvey Sports A could not raise a side.

Both Hounslow Wanderers and Berks Elite progressed into the last eight of the Presidents Cup in thrilling ties against AFC Winkfield and Barton Rovers.

Hounslow won 3-2 at Division One rivals Winkfield after extra time at the Locks Ride Recreation Ground. Kelvin Alves bagged a brace for The Purple Haze with Vik Assi also on target while head coach Saj Panesar donned the goalkeeping gloves. The Winkfield goals came from Ben Jeffries and Jonny Marsden.

Berks Elite won 3-2 on penalties following a 1-1 draw at fellow Division Two side Barton Rovers.

The draw for both the quarter finals to the League Cup and Presidents Cup will take place in the Management Committee meeting on Thursday 5th March.

Old Windsor extended their perfect winning record in the Premier Division to 10 matches after a 4-1 victory at KS Gryf. The goals scorers at the Polish Club were Dale Robins-Bailey, James Walton, Harry Farnan and Joseph Allen.

Burnham Village moved to within a single point of Division One leaders South Bucks United following their 3-1 win at Slough Heating Laurencians A – who remain in third place.

PHOTO: Old Windsor can win the Premier Division title with a draw or better in their match at FC Beaconsfield on Saturday.

St Peters Iver missed out on the chance to climb into the top three after a 1-1 draw at Stoke Poges Saints – who continue to hold sixth spot. The St Peters goal came from Matt Gingell while Sam Manton scored from the penalty spot for The Saints.

Townmead remain 10 points clear at the top of the table in Division Two following their 9-0 win against Iver Heath Reserves at Wise Lane. There was a man-of-the-match performance from Anthony Ball who bagged a brace in the victory.

The match between Sandhurst Town Under 23s and Phoenix Old Boys A was abandoned after 68 minutes at the Sandhurst Memorial Park. Phoenix were winning the game 4-1 at the time.

The pick of the action this Saturday sees the Premier Division front two FC Beaconsfield and Old Windsor collide at the Holtspur Playing Fields. Old Windsor need a draw or better to secure the title and boast a perfect winning record from 10 league matches so far this season.

The best of the cup ties sees Singh Sabha host Division One favourites Burnham Village for a place in the final of the High Wycombe Challenge Cup.
