IVER Heath have become the first club from the East Berkshire League to reach the semi-final of the Berks & Bucks Intermediate Cup this season, writes Rob Stevens.

Old Windsor have been the dominant force in the Premier Division with a 100 per-cent record after nine matches, but their league rivals edged them out in a thrilling cup match at the Recreation Ground.

The home team took the lead with a penalty kick from Harry Farnan, but Paolo Cicero equalised for Iver when he netted from the spot before the break.

A goal from Gary Ashton put the visitors ahead in the second half before Farnan levelled for Old Windsor but Callum Hughes sent his side through with a headed goal in time added on.

KS Gryf could join Iver Heath in the semi-final of the Intermediate Cup with a win against Newport Pagnell Town Reserves at the Polish Association this Saturday. The original quarter-final tie was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch last weekend.

South Bucks United became the first side to reach the quarter-final of the League Cup this season after a 6-2 win at Division One rivals Hounslow Wanderers.

Sam Green was the star on show at The Memorial Ground after scoring a hat-trick whilst Andrew Gonzalez bagged a brace with a further goal from Nat Green.

Barton Rovers made progress in the Presidents Cup following their 3-1 victory at Sandhurst Town Under 23s in round one.

FC Beaconsfield consolidated second position in the Premier Division table after a 5-3 win at Singh Sabha – who remain in fourth place. Hassan Mahmood was amongst the goal scorers for the losing side at the Singh Sabha Sports Centre.

Townmead increased their lead at the top of Division Two to seven points following a 3-2 victory over Stoke Poges Saints Reserves at Wise Lane. The Saints remain in fifth spot.

The pick of the action this Saturday sees both Burnham Village and Hype Train represent the East Berkshire League in the quarter-final of the Berks & Bucks Junior Cup. Burnham welcome Tattenhoe to the George Pitcher Memorial Ground whilst Hype Train travel to Hanslope Reserves.

Old Windsor and FC Beaconsfield are first and second in the Premier Division and meet at the Recreation Ground for a spot in the semi-final of the Maidenhead Norfolkian Senior Cup.
