LAST weekend saw three RDAA clubs out on the venues with two on the Canals and one on the River Kennet, writes Alan Hughes.

Two clubs were on the Kennet & Avon Canal at Froxfield with Prestcold AC fishing the A section, where Graham Walker took the top spot with 8lbs 8ozs of skimmers, roach and perch.

Paul Risi claimed second place with 5lbs 9ozs of perch. Just one ounce behind was Roy Green with 5lbs 8ozs of skimmers roach and perch.

Bracknell Avocets found the going much harder on the B section, where 10 anglers contested the Christmas match.

Terry Smith won the match with 1lb 9ozs of 'silvers' and similar species gave Robin Reynolds the runner-up spot with 1lb 8ozs.

Completing the top trio was Alan Powell with 1lb 4ozs.

Reading Fishing Club found the going really hard on the Beat Four section of the Kennet.

Only two anglers managed to weigh in out of the 11 who fished the match and Bill Tucker took the honours with 6ozs of small 'silvers'. Unfortunately for Tucker, he had not entered the Pools and it was left for Arthur Maybanks to scoop the cash with just 4ozs.

The Angling Trust Pike Qualifier was held on the RDAA waters Farnham Flint and Englefield Lagoon.

Eleven fish were caught totalling 86lbs and the top angler was Roy Pollard with three fish for 31lbs 9ozs.

Second place went to the only female contestant Maria Oladokun (pictured) with two fish for 14lbs 5ozs and in third spot was Chris Charlton with two fish for 13lbs 11ozs.

T.R.B.L.A.S. fished their match on their stretch of the Thames at Hardwick.

The winner from peg 19 was Colin Wainwright who had six chub for 14lbs 2ozs, with one weighing 5lbs 4ozs.

The runner-up was Simon Couling on peg 20 who had 7lbs 10ozs and in third spot was John Smith who had one chub for 6lbs 4ozs.
