Reading captain Liam Moore has urged his team-mates to take responsibilty following the sacking of Jose Gomes this week.
Gomes was fired following a dismal run of results which has left the Royals in the bottom three of the Championship.
Moore took to Twitter to thank Gomes and also admitted the players needed to look at themselves.
He said: "As your captain I can only apologise for the way things have turned out.
"We was united as staff and players but ultimately our form in both boxes hasn’t been good enough and cost us results. I wish you the best of luck for your future boss.
"We as players must take more responsibility and start winning football matches. As things stand were letting the club and the fans down. Words are cheap so there’s nothing more to be said on here. It’s actions that count."
