WOKINGHAM & Emmbrook are out of the Hellenic League's Bluefin Sports Challenge Cup after losing 4-3 in a penalty shoot-out to unbeaten Division One East leaders Risborough Rangers.
The Sumas took a 37th-minute lead through Josh Harris after good work by Dan Carter and Connor Holland and deserved to be ahead at half-time.
But the visitors equalised through Brian Haule on 77 minutes and, with the score still level at 90 minutes, the tie went straight to penalties.
While Sumas keeper Sean Woodward made two good stops, Jake White, Ellis Day and Harris all netted from the spot before Callum Eagle missed, leaving the visitors to clinch victory in sudden death.
Despite making their cup exit, manager Dan Bateman described it as a "great performance" from his side and said the entertaining tie was a "great advert" for the Hellenic League.
On Tuesday last week, Sumas had won 3-0 away to Kidlington Development in a Division One East game with hot-shot White netting all three goals.
They will be looking for three more points when they take on second-in-the-table Marlow United at Lowther Road this coming Saturday.
