BINFIELD FC bounced back from suffering a first defeat of the Premier Division season to beat Ardley United 4-2 at Hill Farm Lane on Monday night.
Danny Horscroft put the Moles in front in the sixth minutes, only for the visitors to level through Twariq Yusef.
A Josh Helmore double in the 23rd and 34th minutes put Roger Herridge's side in control, and the game was effectively put to bed when Asa Povey made it 4-1 shortly after the hour mark.
Mikey McKirnan pulled a goal back with a little more than a quarter-of-an-hour to play, but Binfield held firm to seal a fifth win from seven games this season.
The Moles had previously lost their unbeaten tag with a 3-2 home defeat to Westfields in their top-of-the-table clash on Saturday.
The leaders went into the break 2-0 up following an early goal from Keanu Cooper and one on the stroke of half-time from Billy Murphy.
Povey gave Binfield a glimmer of hope with a 76th-minute strike to halve the deficit, and they carried the momentum on to level through Helmore with 10 minutes remaining.
However, their hopes of a thunderous comeback were killed off when substitute Daniel Stoneman made it 3-2 two minutes from time.
Binfield host Chalvey Sports in the Bluefin Sports Challenge Cup this Monday (7.45pm).
Wokingham & Emmbrook advanced in the Berks & Bucks Senior Trophy with a convincing 3-0 victory at Slough Heating Laurencians.
Josh Harris hit the post early on, but then put his side in front after finishing off a flowing move which also featured Charlie Dean and Connor Holland.
Having led 1-0 at the break, it was Holland who doubled the lead midway through the second period, and Ellis Day completed the scoring to set the seal on a fine team performance from a side who included five Under 18s in their ranks.
Wokingham & Emmbrook were due to visit Kidlington Development in Division One East last night, and Dan Bateman's men then host Risborough Rangers in the Challenge Cup on Saturday (3pm).
