Reading FC have responded to comments aimed at forward Yakou Meite after he received a message on social media calliing him a 'f****** monkey'.

Meite, who was introduced as a substitute in the second half, had a chance to make it 4-0 from the spot late on after Reading raced into a three-goal lead.

However, his spot kick was saved by Cardiff keeper Alex Smithies and after the game, Meite revealed on Twitter he was subject to a sickening attack.
